This North American P-51D was Chuck Weaver's 3rd fighter plane during the war. Chuck was a Double Ace, 357th Fighter Group, based in Leiston, England.
Spring, 1945. This version of the painting was done by S Sgt., Bob Childs. Chuck wrote, "I think more pictures were taken of my plane than all the others on the field put together."
Most fighter planes during WWII had a name painted on the side of the nose. This one only had a nude. The airplane went by the name, Weaver's Nude.
